That’s also true. It’s really hard to explain that to the younger generation since they’ve grown up with so much corn syrup. Cane sugar is just a slightly different all-around taste and even texture, in some cases.

These are the types of things I started doing in 2016, and while they won't keep you from occasional spirals, they will lift you out of a persistent feeling of helplessness. You're only helpless if you decide to be helpless. Take a bit to feel really rotten if you need it and then get to work.

And one last thing, if you're comfortable speaking in front of people, run for office. I ran for an unwinnable seat in the Texas legislature in 2018. I'm still proud of the campaign I ran, which included a lot of educating people about the state of our state. Change takes time and persistence.

Yes! I have to serve jury duty, so by God, I’m voting! I usually have to keep quiet as far as who I’m voting for, since I’m surrounded by… “people that voted for Trump but aren’t voting this time because he can’t keep his mouth shut but won’t vote for Biden because Fox News told them not to”.

So funny! An American robin bathes in a pond, while a young cardinal looks on. The robin turned around & looked at the cardinal with a "Do you mind?" look. When the robin was done, it flew to the arbour for its post-bath ritual, & a dove landed right by it bringing on the same look by the robin.🪶🌱

True story… I was talking to a Spotted Lanternfly nymph yesterday. I tried to explain that it was considered an invasive species here. It didn’t understand what that meant. It said it was born here and was just being a Spotted Lanternfly nymph because “that’s what it do”.
