one of the dangers of a second trump term is that it will be run by these fascist pencil neck dickheads who know they couldn’t win an election for dog catcher on their own personal merits in a race with one candidate, and see trump as the vehicle for their own reign of cruelty.
This part really jumped out at me; "everybody was afraid we were doing things that were illegal and immoral, but not me!" seems like a real red flag moment, not an amusing anecdote.
No one, not even the most hardcore MAGA freaks, would ever vote for Stephen Miller if he was running for anything, even if his opponent was the genetic clone of Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. But Trump will happily put this lickspittle ghoul in charge of immigration policy.
utterly repulsive fucking psychopaths who are keenly aware at viscerally unlikable they are and who are absolutely rabid about being top hanger-on so that they can use the power of the state to crush the testicles of 9 year old immigrants
All of these pathetic excuses for people are salivating at the idea of getting revenge on someone they hate.
In any other administration, they know they would go to jail for their actions. Trump is their one safe space to a future where their enemies are crushed under their boot.
This is the thing. Let's say Biden IS failing. The people who run his administration are competent, largely honorable, public servants. Let's say Trump IS a bumbling fool. The people who would run his are venal, vindictive, power-amassing fiends.
It seems like Trump voters largely have no idea that their guy is allowing himself to be used to implement these freaks’ plans. Articles like this one aside, the press hasn’t done the best job at conveying who’s behind Trump’s “platform”/policies. (And Dems should also be louder about this.)
This is the thing. Heinrich Himmler was a geeky chicken farmer until Hitler gave him a chance at tyranny.
The Third Reich was packed with these types who would never have power but for the Boss and they knew it.
Trump's passion for loyalty over talent follows a script.
