I grew up in this culture and these people fantasize about killing a lot - but actually killing people is tough, dirty work and they are looking for suckers and losers to do the violence at their behalf.

Yeah, that was a big time GOP talking point during the Obama years.

I recall hearing the same thing during the Obama years (about Obama not Biden)...it's a stone cold right wing leftover talking point.

Turns out this dude who got a platform in the Times pontificating how he does not vote actually voted in 2020 and 2022.

Not surprising in the sense this is the same MSM that has fluffed up Trump for four decades and gave us the but her emails debacle...now they want us just allow them to tell us who to run for POTUS. No thanks.

I don't see how former members of the GOP who failed to stop the erosion of their own party should have any say in this...much less a direct audience with the Biden campaign.

So...it's looking like the 7/11 sentencing will be the only accountability for Trump in the near future. Should be interesting.

Can anyone remind me if there was a comparable story in the paper of record about how the GOP ended up being taken over and "gliding to the renomination" by a 34 count convicted felon, insurrectionist, & dude found liable for sexual assault?

The MSM needs to explain first why this is not disqualifying (and Trump is all of 3 years younger). These guys simply have realty TV brain at this point.

The lack of self awareness here is remarkable - the NYT has no idea how all those "Economy gained 300k jobs last month, why this is bad for Biden" headlines cost their credibility. Not to mention I don't recall demands for Trump to step aside after being found liable for rape.

The NYT editorial board presents itself as like a wise adjunct group of strategists advising Democrats how to run their shop, but (a) it’s run and largely staffed by de facto Republican operatives and (b) it has no similar paternalistic scrutiny for Republicans.

Perhaps some day I'll live in a country where the media finds this as disqualifying for a POTUS candidate as having a raspy voice. Source: caselaw.findlaw.com/court/us-dis...

Media guys...Biden is not above criticism, but if you want him to drop out of the race you'll need a better reason then his voice was raspy. Something like he committed a felony would work.

A question I'd like to hear at the debate: Counties that voted Trump only produce 30% of US GDP and have higher crime rates than counties that voted Biden. Why should we expect extrapolating local policies in red counties nationally to improve the economy and decrease crime?

My parents always insisted that tomatoes tasted differently (and more robustly) back in the 30's and 40's...I've once read they are now grown differently and thus the taste has changed but have forgotten what exactly the difference is.
