I had a calzone that memorable in 1979, deeply mourned the pandemic permanent closure of that near-the-U of MN campus eatery, in part because of that. Till then, one could dream of encountering the like once again.

12ish years ago my 2 brothers-in-law and I each ordered a large calzone from a restaurant, they had to bring over an extra table for the calzones...I think about those calzones pretty regularly. Sadly the place closed down a few years later 😔

shipyard I was at in 2012, there was always a food truck or two that would come by around lunchtime for the workers. usually it was just a taco truck but occasionally there was a converted pickup with a big heated compartment in place of the bed, full of pizzas - plus the greatest calzone I ever ate
