That's how I felt before the debate. It's gonna get worse before there's even a chance of getting better. We'll know a lot more by the end of next week.

The people who matter to you, your friends and family, will understand either decision. Their stance on gay rights is awful but you also need to feed yourself and your family. Do what you need to do.

I appreciate the discussion in good faith. Let's agree to disagree here as in my opinion, over the last two years, the editorial page has consistently "both sides" everything from old age and insurrection attempts to old age and project 2025.

I think it might be time to revisit this 2016 @vox.com classic from @volts.wtf to remind ourselves why this freakout is happening:

The entire US political system is premised, at the atomic & subatomic level, upon 2 equally choiceworthy sides. It can't allow a clear choice, & so will *make* it even

Just finished that book. I was high school age around that time so it was nice to see the same things from an adult perspective that I missed because of girls and cars.

Politics, in a democratic republic, is all about incremental change. Glad to see/read that some young people around the world understand that, even if they don't live in a democratic republic.

Gonna need a billionaire that is actually thankful and appreciative to the world that provided him/her the fortune they have and is willing to give back in the form of a media interested in informing viewers instead of amassing clicks at any cost to society.

Maybe don't vote? Then you'll get the satisfaction of sending the message you want to all the politicians you didn't vote for. They'll surely take your view into account next time. And, during the next term, surely those issues you really care about will get better.

right wing think tanks are making thinly veiled threats of political violence, the Supreme Court has neutralized the regulatory power of broad swaths of government, and the fate of the executive branch depends on whether the 81 year old atop it can learn to breakdance or something. Happy July 4th

Here in AZ Biden is done. Biden has been running ads like crazy for the last four months and the polling has only gotten worse. Latest polls show him down by 7%. If he's going to pull this comeback off, it likely won't be with our electoral votes.

I would definitely advocate that you vote for anyone but the GOP in the next election for reasons relating to women's healthcare, voting rights, etc. I would also agree that the fact this election is even close doesn't bode well for our country's future.

The question isn't whether Obergefell is threatened (it obviously is on the chopping block), it's whether the Gang of Six is willing to take down the Full Faith and Credit Clause to say Republican-run states also don't need to recognize gay marriages from Democratic-run states.

The future is terror.

Funded by Heritage Foundation, the same group creating Project 2025, a GOP activist is snooping into the background of federal employees, creating a Trump enemies list.

With Schedule F, they will fire those officials.

This story broke a couple weeks ago and is still barely being noticed. It should end Trump's campaign. The "Firehose Of Shit" ensures there is just so much crime and fuckery that it all starts to become white noise. Don't become numb.

Yes, if you don’t like the choice between Trump and Biden, think of it as picking between Stephen Miller and Pete Buttigieg, Steve Bannon and Deb Haaland, Michael Flynn and Lina M. Khan, Alex Jones and Jessica Rosenworcel, or Brett Kavanaugh and Ketanji Brown Jackson. Both sides are not “the same”

I wonder how many Jill Stein voters from 2016 feel great about their vote? According to them, this strategy works to pull the candidate towards their position. Instead they got Trump, lost the supreme Court for 20+ years and eventually the moderate D, Biden. Lol.
