Random artist appreciation post: Tom Björklund, "paleopainter."
He has an account at @tombjorklundart.bsky.social, but he's never posted, so I guess I'll do a bit for him.
His art of our ancestors and near-ancestors is warm, beautiful, and humanizing in a way I find very rare.

Thanks for sharing! I came across him on facebook a few years back, and love his portraits of Neanderthals that have the correct bone structure but still look human. I am also of the opinion that his is a much more accurate picture of paleolithic people than what is normally depicted.

It's always staggering to realize how very long ago humans were humans. 200,000+ years ago, our ancestors were homo sapiens, just like us, with our brains, creativity, and emotions.

If you watch a lot of paleontology/history/anthropology YouTubers, his work might be familiar; he get commissioned for illustrations and thumbnails a lot.
