PhD thesis just submitted for second lot of feedback. I was supposed to finish this last year. I am sick of the hold-ups at uni. It's going to drag on and drag on through much of this year and none of it will be down to me. I feel like I'll never finish it.

A slur is created as a slur or at least derived from a bad place, not adopted as one when it get used by others. We all remember TERs happily calling themselves TERFs until others began using it. Suddenly it's a slur? Ditto for the 2000 or so years-old Latin prefix 'cis'.

I'm not really on Twitter now. The X fash froze my account cos I wouldn't delete a mild tweet, after they repeatedly refused to take down content that threatened trans people and danced on trans kids graves. I couldn't get my followers back up on a new account. I'm glad you're on here.

Not enough is said about how much of the trans experience is enduring soul-crushing waves of anxiety about the future due to vicious, small-minded people who would rather give in to hate than put in the slightest amount of effort to empathise or understand.
