My only question here is why NPR didn’t include in its December story that Lewis had offered an exclusive in exchange for killing the story. That would have been newsworthy then, too.

I thought the story was pretty strong until I got to the section where they detail their visit. How do these observations serve the reader at all? Did they expect soldiers to beat the shit out of people while a team of reporters is watching?
