Genuinely appreciate having insider confirmation! As soon as I posted, I realized that all of my friends who went there graduated 20+ years ago so maybe things have changed.

Also, Morris may be conservative overall, but the fact that it's a college town seems significant in the broader story. U of MN Morris is a state school but the reputation is that's where you go if you want state school prices but liberal arts college vibes.
