Comics are for everyone. Not “every comic is for everyone.” More like “there is a comic for everyone.” And also “every comic is for someone.”
What else can I overthink for you?
Listened to an author interview this morning about how she wrote the book *she* wanted and was honestly surprised to find a clutch of readers to whom it spoke to as well. Is it for everyone? Nope. But for us it is wonderful!
Actually I think what you've said is quite apt.
No matter what genre someone likes, there is always a comic for them. I feel the same way, and rather then trying to bash on comic books I don't like, I try to celebrate the comics that I love.
(Then again, I've never driven a car in my entire life, at the age of 47, because the greenhouse effect has been settled science for over 35 years and we all should have known better decades ago, so I'm exactly the kind of environmentalist hippie who would say something like this.)
But this is so true though. I've seen so many people complaining about a comic, or shaming others for enjoying a certain comic. It's like, ok, if you don't like it, that's fine, just move on and find one that's more to your liking, and allow people to like what they like.
