All very raw, but will leave at that to let grow roots & adhere.
Will trim after spring growth.
Don't have suitable mānuka as I hoped, all their branches started too high on each tree.
Tiny kānuka were added for now while I seek a few older ones.
Will need a water or gravel filled tray.

A while back when on company training days Id get into town very early and have a coffee sitting on the Downtown airbridge overlooking the ferry terminals and quay just watching/hearing the city wake up and get busier by the minute.

Brilliant what I've seen via Nigel Saunders YouTube channel its an awesome bonsai club/society. I owe him much gratitude early on in my interest and now for the instruction and inspiration on his channel when i couldn't access a club. 11yrs worth of progression videos he has there. Cheers.

Nice & good to have guidance. After my 4th year as a bonsai beginner I realized I had not tried a juniper nana. Finally had a go recently. Still had to restrain my beginner energy not to prune too much. Glad to find more bonsai folks on here. KW Bonsai , is the same club Nigel Saunders is at?

What I've seen from family the idea that you'll go back & visit family may soon disappear when you encounter the cost of doing so once here+crap wages. think a more intense feeling of isolation may set in. A big factor i think for Ukrainians that took up the offer of 'come to NZ' + abysmal support.

Yeah I'm always that customer looking for plant, never in stock or that folks gave up on especially for bonsai. I love many varieties but mostly I'm after the original native tree and not hybrids etc. Not always easy to find anymore. I feel so sorry for shop workers who end up on a quest for me.

Did it as per steps outline in the article - but after entering the security code it then informs you there is a minimum character count to reach to satisfy the 2 x prompt boxes being filled out. So another code has to be sent for the 2nd attempt.

Remember this fern on a walk opposite the Arataki Visitor Centre from 20+ yrs ago - tracked down a source. Will see how it may be worked into a #Bonsai composition some day.
I had it once before but unsuccessful in garden - never saw again at retail stores.

I was more on edges over yrs of 2008 to 2016 ish quoting for server/storage sales & support roles here & there. Not actually using or maintaining it in production daily. But AI AFAIK has no standard to verify it is AI & if one has been defined was by folks who should not have the final say it seems

I used to be more invested and involved/worked in the tech industry but I just seemed to experience waves of jargon more removed from reality with each pass - it seems the buzz moved from hardware - to software - to virtualization - cloud - IoT -ML - now AI- AKA the Nothing. It really is a Nothing.

I think if any of them happen to survive or even just get momentum - when the startup honeymoon is over I think they struggle to pay their own way and stand on their own feet - takes a lot to change into a stable everyday business it seems. Especially if based on vapour.

Think I moved to games that were less demanding or just didn't need me to be too invested to play. Then this got boring. Tried turn based games as you can just leave them sitting there waiting for your turn. But these start to feel like working a spreadsheet which is too much like being at work.
