I remembered the indecipherable ancient Sumerian bar joke (a dog walks into a bar and says "I can't see anything. I guess I'll open this one") and decided to read some of the other proverbs and jokes from the same collection and discovered that Sumer also had the original "No take! Only throw!" meme

It cannot be stressed enough that adjusting the size of the Supreme Court in the 19th c. was a serious solution to serious concerns about how the Court functioned. As @earlymodjustice.bsky.social points out, reform often addressed imbalances. And these imbalances were often about REPRESENTATION. 1/

there's pros and cons to both methods. 13-digit strings are too long to read visually without hyphens, so especially for print catalogs/ads they seem to me essential. But for digital listings where users copy & paste, unhyphenated makes way more sense.

Yamada Murasaki's TALK TO MY BACK is a stunning work of comics. Yamada's artwork has a gorgeously tentative edge to it, a deceptive sketch-like quality that serves as a beautiful contrast to the striking, beautifully-articulated interiority and frustration of the story. I adored it.

Library funding is almost always justified through patron numbers. The more people a library serves, the more funding it gets. So even if you don't regularly use a public library, get a library card. It costs you nothing and helps everyone in your community.

The logic is circular. Biden's infirmity is the story. Other things can't be the story, because they're not the story. Why is Biden the story? Because he's the story. If the threat of Trump is the story, why isn't it already the story? And on and on.
