It’s also treating all feminists like TERFs. Many, many feminists are inclusive, and believe that trans rights are human rights. And that the attack on trans rights is the first sortie in a coming war on women’s rights.

The “war on woke” is a war on multiple fronts. It aims to splinter women from LGBTQIA+, black and brown from white.
Framing “women’s issues” (and that’s a phrase I loathe) as about gender identity is a “look over there” tactic to divert us from equal pay, the rollback of bodily autonomy etc.

I turned it round in three different ways, repeatedly, and it still leans over towards the house.

It got me (British English, northern vowel sounds) as mostly New York. I do not think I speak very much like people from New York, but possibly I speak even less like people from other bits of the US :)

Obviously I chose not to stop being fat, so I chose to have diabetes. I could just stop if I just tried harder. (This is so insidious that we start to subconsciously think it ourselves too sadly. i try not to).

Not just "the" virus, but other airborne ones too. But yes, it would indeed be a bit late at that point.

(I was fine with her not bothering, given it was a big well ventilated room and not crowded and I had mine, but it was still good to be asked)

Went for a blood test at the GP this morning. There's not many people around (many appointments are now by phone) but I'm the only person obviously in a mask. When I'm called through though the phlebotomist asks if I'd like her to wear a mask too. First time I've had that. Thanks!

Honestly this couldn’t be more important, I’ve spent heartbreaking hours trying and failing to save the life of young healthy dogs who were over-exercised on mid-to-high-20s (C) afternoons. Heatstroke can so easily kill. Please be careful.

“Immunocompromised people shouldn’t be gathering in large groups anyway” is making me cry today, man. They’re saying the quiet part out loud and the only people I see really making noise about this are those of us who will be completely shut out of public life if these bans go through

I recall being stopped at the side of a bike path with the cargo bike, trying to fix a flat. I had the tools and the repair kit, but my rubber solution had dried up. Loads of people stopped to ask if we were OK, but none of them had a repair kit to actually help! (One did go fetch one though).

Oh look. Followed by a random bloke who has never interacted with me (or apparently anyone else) and only posts selfies of himself. And he's an ex-soldier of some sort? (One of said selfies has medals) Yay, first one on this platform! (Blocked).

The squid is overwhelmed because she runs a small science education nonprofit that could do so much more work if it was better funded, and she's written all these grants but none have come through this year, so she's nervous.
But this squid has a patreon Patreon.com/SkypeAScientist

Being a woman in the public eye, I have a front row seat to the trends in uncreative and tedious insults that pathetic men lob at you to cover up for their own failures.
It used to mostly be "ugly" and "lonely cat lady." In the past year or so, however, it's nearly 100% claims that I'm trans....
