I'm looking at the Facebook marketplace and frustrated that I'd save so much money if I had never worked in IT. Considering fibro ate my life at 24 I wouldn't lose that much anyway and could have avoided trade school. Honestly, computers were a huge mistake.

I feel like there's a chance that I've of the really wacky Roman emperors could have briefly been as universal as possible. Extensive trade networks over Europe and Africa and bordering China (there were some Hellenic cities near China even). So outside chance everyone might have known Caligula.

I literally wouldn't have survived my divorce without the people I found by posting. Social Security didn't think I was too disabled to work but random people I had never met before helped me get by. No NPR host has bought me lunch let alone paid my rent though, maybe it's a him problem.

As far as I know, because the campaign legally belongs to Biden and cannot be transferred. As in the corporate entity that is the Biden/ Harris 2024 campaign. That would include its lawyers, contacts, work product, etc. The infrastructure that would be hard to rebuild fast.

The Biden/Harris campaign, which as far as I know (and you did prove me wrong once already) I don't think she can take over. If she can then this isn't a problem but if she can't it's a massive issue. It's the only reason I think they should make him run then Article 25 him at Christmas.

I was absolutely wrong about the money but it does kind of highlight how difficult campaigning is because of the thicket of how the money has to be accounted for. They've made it expensive and complicated to run for president.

I'll admit I didn't think she could take over anything but this isn't the campaign infrastructure, just the money. Which is a start but it doesn't solve needing to open hundreds of offices in weeks at most.

No, it doesn't, she doesn't own the campaign, Biden does. There's no legal mechanism I know of to give it to her.

It functionally does. They'd have to be already hiring lawyers and office coordinators. Like, today. The system is engineered to make dark horse runs impossible and that is going to hurt any late period roll out. I'd love it if it was anyone else, that's why there should have been a primary.

Notice I still called him a fascist. As a disabled queer person who only got a real place to live on Monday after three years of paying rent to couch surf, I'm distinctly aware of how bad the Dems are and how the GOP are distinctly worse on things for a few people. I prefer inefficient fascism.

I promise you it's not for both of them. The GOP wants it to run so much more efficiently for their own enrichment. The Democrats still pretend to care and can be shamed and guilted. You can tell because Biden isn't bragging about assassinating activists.

Could, yes, but they haven't handed infinite money to anyone yet. Again, this might be different if they handed someone infinite money but they haven't. That would still be difficult and it'd take an army of lawyers to do but it wouldn't be impossible at least.

We're not the only country that's had its fascism compromised by infighting, military weakness, or sheer incompetence. There's more than one way for the machine to not work correctly.

I don't know, mine relies on an understanding of how hard politicians have made it to run a campaign on purpose, yours relies on a magical money tree. It's going to be an easier sell if Harris had infinite money and everyone knew about it.

Because of the way employment and campaigns work. I'm not going to defend why the system works this way but campaigns are basically private corporations with special tax laws and employment contracts. They can't simply be moved without a whole bunch of legal changes in several states.

I just explained it; offices, office managers, lawyers, volunteer coordinators. The nuts and bolts of running a campaign. Zero Democrats have that prepared right now for a national roll out other than Biden because they let him walk without a primary.

It's not uncommon *after* a primary. A primary let's everyone get that spun up. No one else is ready right now. There's not enough time to sign leases and hire people because Biden can't just hand off his campaign structure. If there had been a primary, several candidates would have that already.

It's not about the voters, it's about the ballots, campaign offices, and lawyers. American elections are built on infrastructure, and the infrastructure isn't there for anyone else. Since campaigns are private entities that are not party organs or government offices the laws are weird and specific.

There isn't the time to put in all the infrastructure needed for the election at this point. A primary would have given everyone that time but thanks to how the US works for elections we're at least a month too late to spin up what's needed. They let him run again uncontested and now we're stuck.

There is, I mean compromised here in the sense of a car that's compromised. It's less secure and it's operationally hampered. It's fascism either way but it's not running on all cylinders if Biden wins purely because of territoriality.

It's ridiculous, I would have loved to replace him with an actual primary but it's too late now. There's not enough time to spin up the infrastructure thanks to the warren of systems they keep defending.

I get it but compromised fascism is better than uncompromised fascism and if the violent overthrow of the US isn't already happening then the GOP winning makes that harder, not easier.
