I haven't been digging deep into the Alice Munro stuff because I'm a survivor of CSA and my mother chose to stay with men who abused me multiple times. It's been hard seeing so much about it, but also I feel pretty validated seeing everyone say how fucked up it is, and less alone.

Motherwort is almost done blooming for the year. I love how their seeds form inside their little pods and they get all rattley. Sharp little things! I forget how sharp they are every couple years🌱

Garden update🌱: unripe Cortland apples are the biggest we have ever seen on this tree, wild bergamot is starting to bloom, gray headed coneflower is getting some real color, and the rudbeckia triloba in the side yard is really getting going!

When my OM team went to Chanhassen to see State Fair (Amy Adams played the cow!), we got candy cigarettes at a gas station, and a very concerned suburban citizen wrote an incredibly angry letter to our school district for allowing smoking in a school van.
