The ONLY reason the press is still going nuts about all this random grumbling is because they've got NOTHING ELSE. This election is a slam-dunk, no brainer and they know it. There's absolutely no question which candidate should be president, but that doesn't fill columns or a ten minute news segment

The Constitution says that in cases of impeachment, "the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment and punishment, according to law." It does not except the president. But what impeachable offenses aren't covered by the new doctrine of immunity?

Also: Federal law is a floor, not a ceiling. The Court ruled that people CAN be ticketed, not MUST be, and did not make a ruling that forces munis to do this. As frustrating as it is, this is back to the states and towns now, and means getting on your city council’s ass and not letting go.

When I took my oath/affirmation to be an assistant public defender, I affirmed I'd accept no compensation other than my salary. I would've had an aneurysm if a happy client had attempted to give me something worth anything. The whole ethics thing at SCOTUS feels like a slap in the face, honestly.
