I didn't even get to vote to her in the primaries and I really wanted to, but she'd already dropped out by then.
Both are still Dem senators, we might've not had a majority w/o them, doesn't that count for anything? (Also the reason why one of my fav Ohio ppl, Sherrod Brown, said no to running.)

That was also my thinking behind telling family and friends that he would've been obliterated in the general both in 16 and 20. I love Bernie, but he leaves the general public feeling mildly annoyed and somewhat alarmed. I would've voted for him but he didn't have a chance.

But, but he's a whole three years younger, and, while the angry bullshit that comes out of his mouth makes zero sense, look how powerfully he's saying it, with what energy! Vigor, even.

Back in 09, I was there at a different convention staying at its overflow hotel, which happened to be the main hotel for Anthrocon. Been a vocal defender of the fandom ever since, as have many of my friends who were at the convention with me.

I just finished watching their coverage of the debate and am stunned. Did they mention "they're taking black jobs"? Post-birth abortions? His refusal to say if he'll accept election results? Nope. "But he lies" he said. We already know and are used to it, show us the really scary shit, Jon.

What if I'm an immigrant myself and didn't take US sixth grade civics? Was naturalized in 2003, studied for and passed the exam, forgot most of what I'd studied (pretty sure I couldn't name the first 13 states now if you put a gun to my head) but have good working memory and can catch up. Ok or no?

Watching the Daily Show coverage right now and they're using his facial expressions to prove that he does, but I have the same look on my face anytime I hear anything coming out of Trump's mouth and I certainly do not have it.

That makes a lot of sense actually. The 1900 Russia was a theocracy of the kind where (according to my former priest) you had to bring proof of being up to date on your communion to get hired at a job; an empire built on supremacy of ethnic Russians; oh and it had a king.

Right? Mystifying. The people I know who would cut contact, end friendships etc if someone they'd known irl had acted like he did towards her, were totally chill with supporting him anyway I simply do not understand

Having to drive across town after a full day of work to take the envelope with her mail-in vote in it to the county BOE mailbox was... something. She didn't say who the vote was for but I knew. The thought that I was spending my entire evening on that made me want to take up hard drugs right then.

Oh absolutely, I gave birth to one of them. He expected a shrewd businessman and was extremely disappointed.
Then you have my mom, who voted for him twice, but after J6 was "he lost, why isn't he accepting it" hope she dislikes him enough now (as she says she does) to not vote for him yet again.

artistic impression in figure skating anymore, as I found out right before I wrote this skeet. All the more reason for whoever covers a presidential election season not to, either.)

Exactly, this is not fucking figure skating. You don't give extra points for artistic impression if in the technical part of it the skater appears on the rink with a live hand grenade which they promise to throw into the audience if they don't win.

Cohen to make another Borat film like the one he had Rudy Giuliani in that came out right before the 2020 election, for the mass voter to notice that something is badly wrong? Isn't it the media's job to make this front page news? This, not another 10 versions of "why Biden must resign".

asked "but what about project 2025" and they had no idea what it was. First time they heard of it was from me. These are people who follow news and watch news on TV and read the media way more than I do, how do they not know? Why is it not being shouted from the rooftops? Do we need Sasha Baron

I was having dinner with friends the other day (yep the real conversation in an Ohio diner lol). They had all seen the first ten minutes of the debate and were horrified. Saying things like "what's the difference between the two" and "he's senile" and "how bad would it really be if Trump wins". I
