I still remember when I heard that my then-husband's mother hadn't allowed him to play football as a kid and I was like, 'what an overprotective nut.' And now of course I'm like, she was brilliant and ahead of her time! Didn't let my son play, either.

Oh, they'll have plenty to say about how football is an American tradition, 300 pound tackles have always been a thing, why are you picking on minorities who depend on football scholarships to get into college, and what gives you the right to hobble the tiny % of future prof athletes careers in HS!!
