Nigel Farage claiming to have single-handedly destroyed the BNP is some breathtaking gall. Especially after one of his candidates has just been revealed as an ex-BNP member. He didn‘t destroy them, he recruited them. I remember back when the BNP suddenly started wearing suits & campaigning for UKIP.

"Hundreds of children are injured by cars every year. So we need to ban under 16s from using cars" I don't think anyone would argue that this is a ludicrous position in the modern world Banning smartphones for under 16s isn't *that* ridiculous. But it's not that far off, either
