Alito tells Congress he will NOT recuse from the Trump immunity case. He defends his wife's use of the two controversial flags, saying they had no connection to "Stop the Steal" or any other partisan movement. s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24...
The twice-used phrase “a reasonable person who is not motivated by political or ideological considerations or a desire to affect the outcome of Supreme Court cases” provides further evidence that Alito is not a textualist but just a hack, as this partisan fling does not appear in the text.
Why am I not surprised that Sam Alito is willing to throw his own wife under the bus?
I think he’d do it anyway to save his own narrow ass, but I suspect she may have agreed to take public blame in order for him to continue ruling on this (and staying unimpeached generally). They’re a TraitorTeam.
Alito says that when he saw his wife flying the flag upside down, he asked her to take it down, but "for several days, she refused."
"My wife and I own our Virginia home jointly. She therefore has the legal right to use the property as she sees fit." s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24...
hey just curious if the special pine tree flag wasn't part of any political movement then why was it manufactured? Who was it marketed towards? Why was it purchased in the first place, if it means nothing?
(Same questions to the upside-down flag- why, then, if no connection to external factors?)
