History will recall that the New York Times, that bastion of "the liberal media," on July 4, 2024 chose to give prime space on their op-ed page to a theocratic absolutist who argued that people shouldn't vote, even though he himself has voted in the last 2 elections (but nowhere is that mentioned).

A saw a post that was specifically comparing Victorian mansions with new glass-and-concrete ones and it's like the worst possible comparison for this. Victorian houses were so badly built that the "falling apart/haunted Victorian mansion" became a trope in literature like 30 years after their heyday

The Guano Islands Act let 19th-century sailors claim deserted guano islands for the USA. We had over 100 of these and still own 10, militarily administered by the president. If we save one for Trump's exile, that leaves 9 for the justices. (Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson should get first pick.)

If he wants a spectacle, he could draft the 6 MAGA justices. Or turn the courthouse into an army barracks and relocate the court to a remote guano island. But I think he should quietly ask the DOJ and IRS to investigate them since they specifically approved that approach.

With induction, one can look at the control panel and see exactly how much power one is putting into the cooking vessel (and not into the air surrounding it). It responds faster than gas, It cranks up hotter, and dials down lower and more evenly. You can even get blue LEDs.

My first induction cooktop had 12 power levels, which doesn’t give you much fine-tuning of low settings. I immediately bought another with 20 levels (5-100% at 5% steps). The low, even, controllable heat is induction's best feature.
