I’m seeing people talk about the protests at Columbia while suggesting a desire to end the war is “unpopular.” But that’s not actually the case! Just 36% of Americans approve of Israel’s actions! These kids are getting arrested and evicted for nonviolent protest while having a very popular opinion!

i know this is irrational, but the number of 'no opinion' answers going up is extremely depressing to me the fact that that some people really respond to being proved wrong by disengaging from the conversation entirely is just so disappointing, even if its better than continued support of Israel

Reminiscent of late 1960S and early 1970s with Viet Nam where popular opinion had reversed and support of the Nixon bombings and continued US strategy there was polling poorly. And the happened again in Iran and Afghanistan more recently.
