There is plenty of art left once all of the (known) artist's material has been abandoned. I have deleted books on my Kindle by authors who have abused others, and I will be dumping all my Gaiman books when I have the energy, it's all so hateful.

Letraset action transfers are the ones I remember (but had completely forgotten about, due to being very old).

This is a beautiful story, and reading it in your head in that posh 1930s British newsreel voice only makes it more beautiful.

That just inspired me to check the radioactive banana thing, and it seems you'd need to eat somewhere between 5 and 10 million bananas in one go for them to kill you (by radiation), or 275 a day for 7 years before symptoms became noticable.

Oh hey y’all guess what I have a new book coming out in March 2025 & you can pre-order it if you want!
You can do so from anywhere, I recommend your local indie, but meanwhile here’s Macmillan’s link us.macmillan.com/books/978125...

Though the apparent message from AP that she was the 14th (!) might mean he's established a "successful" way of making his coercion feel like it was something that had been consensual.

I've not seen anyone yet defend him. The only thing I can add is that as far as I'm aware only one uk news site has reported the story (Metro) so maybe the others are fact-checking first? I'm sure lots of his fans would rather it wasn't true, but no-one I've seen has been saying nothing happened.

As on every election day since 2010, I am thinking of all the people who should be here today. This government has killed so many people. Tens of thousands of disabled people are dead because of the intentional choices of Tory ministers. Honour the dead. Fight for the living.

Although it's not red, but orange, the people who named it didn't have the word orange at the time, so red had to do.

I need a holiday but haven't had time due to workload to take more than a day here and there. I haven't been able to persuade the boss to let me have more time off because I work for myself, and I don't care about me either 😉

It was in reply to a question about identifying a song from a short video clip with a number of competing songs so it was more of a "if in doubt, it's quite likely to be a" rather than an absolute statistic, but I found it amusing enough to share what I remembered 😉

I recall a friend (who is knowledgeable about such things) say that in a lot of UK gardens, if you hear bird song there's at least a 50/50 chance it's a blackbird.

I don't think you can blame yourself for living in hope, despite the evidence. My autistic daughter's mum can be amazingly unaware of other people's needs. She's done online tests and the results say she's not autistic, but I do wonder sometimes. Some mums are just not for leaning on, sadly.

It's not that Labour won't be better than the Tories, I'm sure they will, but it does feel like they're sacrificing a lot of support by trying not to draw attention to themselves, if that's what they're doing.

I think it's pretty obvious that she wouldn't. I have similar feelings about the prospect of a party winning who seem to be prepared to be almost as cruel as the one they replace. I want the tories wiped out, but I'd also like something better once they are.

There was a writer's thing a year or so ago where someone suggested using years as levels just to remind you that if you're just a beginner don't worry that you're not great straight away, maybe it's sprung up from something like that.

My favourite thing about M John Harrison's Kefahuchi Tract trilogy is that I still have no idea what it was all about. The Locked Tomb series fooled me by starting out appearing to make sense, but despite reading explanations online I don't have a clue.
