Vonnegut had his finger directly on the pulse of the human condition. Which is why he's still so relevant, because the human condition never changes :-)

During the height of the pandemic I’d tried to set myself a total (re)read project but I’ve always got so many new books to read I just couldn’t do it.
Yes, he was good. On the level of Rod Sterling and others. Prophets who lived through the Great Depression, WW II, and tried to warn future generations of how easily history can and will repeat itself.
My dad was at Shortridge HS with Vonnegut but a bit younger, my uncle was in classes with Kurt.
Apparently he was always a few degrees off center but hints of genius too, even before the war.
I read Vonnegut at my dad's funeral, he said everything so well.
