The weird thing is, my family wasn't religious! It was the way pregnancy was portrayed in the media I was consuming. I wasn't part of some cheerful married couple, and I didn't want a baby, so I must be in the ranks of the sluts and terrified teens I was watching and reading about.

I worried about being pregnant before I ever had sex and after having (protected) sex for the first time. It is insane how hard it is to shake the idea once you learn the myth that pregnancy is some sort of punishment visited on impure women.
