There are lot of things to analyse about this horrifyingly ableist image. The conflation of mobility aids with cognitive decline, for instance, or the way it's posed as a looming threat. But what really gets me is that using a rollator openly, even with pride, would not be the problem here. 1/

The weird thing is that the Greens are MUCH further removed from the political status quo than Nigel & Pals. 4 far left (good) MPs is a *bigger* story than another 4 far right ones, especially since most of the far right got obliterated. Reform may have "gained" but their beliefs did not

Through my childhood, on election nights, my dad was the man under Peter Snow’s desk putting interesting facts on notecards into his socks. That’s how it was done before Google, kids. You got a very clever ASD man with some Oxford degrees to just remember interesting constituency histories.

I'm in an SNP/Lab marginal. I prefer SGP but I'll vote SNP because they're better than Labour & my guy isn't transphobic. Sure I'd prefer Green, but the most a Green vote will do here is increase the accuracy of the sample—and if that was my priority, I'd write in "Automated luxury queer communism".

I'm willing to listen more, but most Scots indy-supporting trans folks' opinions I've seen have been "vote SNP unless your local candidate is a wrong'un" so I'm planning on voting for Tommy Sheppard tomorrow, and saving my Green votes for Holyrood & councils where it's not (only) a protest
