Can't read cos paywall but good to see journos asking a fundamental question about this government's housing policy: how will supporting infrastructure be paid for?

‘Dark and brooding, Heathcliff stared across the misty moors and muttered, “I hate Mondays, but damn I love lasagna.”’ Emily crumpled up the paper. No. Something just wasn’t working.

But it would give disenfranchised more of a voice and ease the rates burden. It's gotta go. 🙄

I know 2024 has been accused of having terrible writing but having the UK election on July 4th and the US election on November 5th seems a bit on the nose.

Things a NZ public school should not do: fill their newsletter with excited pics of a fun opportunity that only kids with money to donate to a sports fundraiser were allowed to attend during standard school hours. “Learning” was the alternative punishment for the unpaid. C’mon NZ.

My website now has a shop on it. You can still buy earplugs etc from me irl, but if you don't happen to be in Tāmaki Makaurau, this is one way of getting them. They're identical to ones currently heavily advertised online, except half price, and more finetuned. 🤷‍♂️

Yep. “The answer is, that I am aware of, we need to have internal LLM. .. What we don’t want to be doing is adding into someone else’s dataset that ends up suddenly being used in a way it was never meant to.”

Every Starmer bot praising Keir for 'changing' the Labour Party annoys me, simply because he changed the Labour party into the Tory party, policy wise. They're going to try low key austerity, low key support for Israel, and low key isolationism. It's not a vote for change except for the personnel.

... In central Christchurch the 30km/hr zone in the CBD *alone* has saved at least 112 injury accidents over the last 8 years. Whether you consider that "worthwhile" is a matter how much you can imagine you or your family being one of them.

Of all the baffling ideas this govt is pursuing, this one’s a doozy *even by their own lights*: a cost-benefit review of safe speed zones around schools found they’re <checks notes> 45x better for the economy than Simeon Brown’s strictly-school-gate notion!
