This take is baffling. People were loudly saying this in 2016, large chunks of lefty dissenters maintained it was just a scare tactic, and then the lesser evil lost and the greater evil won and this is the direct result of that. The squishy liberal mind was proven emphatically correct
i want the entire DNC to burn to the ground and i hope joe biden and kamala harris both die of simultaneous heart attacks, but i'm still gonna vote for this party since it's the one most likely to guarantee a trump loss and i'm not a fucking idiot
i don't think the problems started in 2016. GOP fascism was already apparent by the time bush jr won his second term, and a hallmark of the obama administration was the impossibility of dealing with republican representatives.
We had an open fucking SC seat to change the court from conservative to liberal for the first time in a generation and I am just ranting here because what the fuck it was sitting right there!
We dont need to relitigate 2016. I think a lot of yall underestimate how mad white folks were that a black man was president twice. When a guy showed up and told them its okay to be racist and hateful as hell they took it and ran. He makes them feel good about it. Should be obvious by now.
I guess no matter which of the two President options that have been selected for me get elected, every last man woman and child in Palestine is for sure gonna be killed, so I may as well stop caring about that when it comes to my vote 🤷 ah well- at least I can say I voted blue ✅
Also she got more votes, and more than any white man in history up to that point, including her opponent.
But the electoral college. Then suddenly the people that believe individuals can’t be blamed for failing to overcome systemic barriers blamed her for not overcoming a systemic barrier.
I was lurking on twitter then but I remember the all-caps “don’t tell me about the supreme court” post from some Gawker network person and it’s one of the great unacknowledged “load-bearing posts” of twitter.
Hillary didn't lose because of Leftists. She received more votes than nearly any candidate to that point. She lost because she refused to campaign in key states and also, expecting an easy win, actively elevated and platformed Trump.
lol Hillary won the popular vote and didn’t campaign in swing states, a bunch lefties didn’t swing the election (nor did lefties make RBG stay a justice despite having cancer)
who do you think harmed Clinton's election chances more, Robby Mook running her campaign saying 'for every blue collar voter we lose we'll gain two in the suburbs' or LeninFucker69 saying 'I don't wanna vote for the lady who destroyed Libya'
You don't seem to get the OP's point. Let me explain:
Voting for a lesser evil is not a political strategy. It will always result in the greater evil winning. Lesser evil politics is always a loser for the Democrats. It has never resulted in a win and it never will.
maybe we should have pokemon gone to the polls better
leftists are so selfdefeating when they absolutely do not have to be and the conservatives are more than happy to take that role on themselves
Maybe those squishy liberal minds shouldn't have tried to force an unpopular candidate down the entire country's throat to begin with. Trying to clear the primary field for someone who was famously rejected 8 years before was a pretty stupid move.
Why didn't Hillary campaign harder and try to win more votes?
Everyone with power is ignoring the Supreme Court has been accepting bribes since Scalia.
