Did anyone’s folks use “directly” in a similar context? My grandfather would say he’d be somewhere or do something “dreckly” (directly) and that usually meant he’d do it that day but but maybe not immediately. “I’ll be there dreckly” could mean 20 minutes or two hours.

HeLa cells (derived from a cervical cancer lesion taken and unknowingly exploited from Henrietta Lacks) are pretty screwed up. They’re hypertriploid, meaning each cell has anywhere from 70-90 chromosomes instead of the usual 46, with translocations and other weirdness being common.
