At this point just let me know who is running for president: if it’s Biden, I’ll vote for him, if it’s Kamala, then I’m coconut-pilled. Hell, a cabbage outlasted Liz Truss. I’ll vote for the cabbage.
But please, I can’t handle people who discovered politics yesterday arguing over this any longer

Leftists are just as bad as centrists, if not worse. "Careful, if you don't conform to all my policy preferences and choice of candidate, I might might let Trump get elected."
Different aesthetics, identical tactics, identical outcomes.

I could be overstating it, the worst nutters are in the Air Force. But lots of Army officers lowkey are invested in a certain social hierarchy, not because of hate but just their background.
I was mostly in maneuver units so that could be a difference.

Enlisted are a mixed bag. Officers are as bad as dentists, landlords, or boat dealers.

The truly scary part is when media outlets understand what happens to the ones who don't play ball. They stop trying to oppose the strongman. They start playing along.
This may already be starting, but it will deteriorate quickly.

Overwhelmingly true. Stop screaming and crying in public. It spreads despair on our side while spreading entertainment and useful content on their side. It's warm seas to their hurricane of hate.

No, dimwit, the point was that elections aren't decided by talking heads chattering about senility.

If you're comparing Biden's merits with Reagan's merits, you have misapprehended the most basic aspect of this discussion, and I hope an adult ties your shoes for you.

Some of these people want Biden to step aside to open up the convention for their own theatrical agenda. Do not overlook the influence of the "burn it down" left who happily serve as instruments of the right.

What happened is his challenger was defeated and never ran again. That's what needs to happen here. Hope that helps!

Friendly reminder that Ronald Reagan was called senile so often it became a running gag on SNL and the late night shows. He then won 49 of 50 states in the 1984 election.

The risk is that Biden looks senile, and Trump does not.
If you see the election as turning on whether informed undecided voters see that as important, then it's really scary.
I understand that POV but I don't weight that risk as heavily as the risk of subbing in a new candidate at this point.

Biden's performance was concerning. That said, I don't think it will change anyone's mind about the candidates. Trump is still Trump; nobody will hate him any less. Biden is still Biden, those who hate him were never going to love him. Normal people didn't watch the debate.

There are some things in politics where the narrative can drive reality and some things where it can't. "Who won the debate" is in the first category, which is why every dem operative should be loudly screaming about how Biden won, actually.

is it like "you should do xyz" or is it like "sure is a hot one!"
the former is unnecessary. but the brotherhood of brush clearing requires that we inform you that it's a hot one.

I'm sympathetic to this, but housing is objectively brutal.
If I had to re-buy my current house in my current market at current rates with my current equity, I couldn't afford it. Imagine how it is for first-time buyers.
