Water is precious & expensive. Water harvesting helps a lot if it is possible & practical. Seriously, we should have phone service when it rains. This seems pretty basic. & when it rains, that's when accidents are more likely to happen & emergency services are needed. We need phones even more then!

Oh wow, that sounds difficult. Sometimes it works to have 2-3 fine screens at the top of the rain gutter before the spout, + 2-3 fine screens at the opening to the barrel, and then the downspout sealed with silicone caulk to the barrel. I was able to pass several West Nile inspections that way.

Is rainwater harvesting an option? &/or a water collection container indoors? We are in lovely times: My cell phone provider recently told me that whenever it rains there's a high probability my phone won't work. These are essential services & it seems like we should have them even if it rains.

A space age mod vibe w clean lines will work better to complement the swoops on the shoes. I'll make the one on the left w the chest cut out in black. Metallic tights or white knee highs, white or metallic mock turtleneck. If the shoes are trashed by the time of the wedding, I'll buy them again.

EXCELLENT IDEAS! The wedding is in early Fall, so there is time to plan out the best outfit. I saw these shoes and I knew they would be perfect for the wedding. I am also thinking that I might wear metallic leggings with a wispy chiffon mini skirt on top, for an otherworldly vibe. + A bolero?? TBD!

Also, I don't want to upstage the bride. I love the silver and chrome look. But, can the entire outfit be silver, or is it more respectful to include some other metallic hues? For example, I have a great copper headdress with clusters of 3" chrystal roses that might tone down the look.

I'm not Hispanic either but I'm California Indigenous & tamales are part of CA Indigenous culture, so by this definition I have decided that this is not a tamale. Any other CA Indigenous person on here please feel free to jump in & we can discuss the finer points of defining what is a tamale.

I get you! We have licence in-culture. But, so then a Hispanic person of any origin can make a "pork tamale" as pictured above & it's still a tamale? I draw the line before that, to actual ingredients & prep. Hotdog wrapped in masa is not a tamale. But add sauce, mince the meat & it's a tamale.

That's exactly it. A ' "pork tamale" ' like that is not a real tamale. The hot dog tamale I made with chopped meat & red sauce, that's a real tamale. So was the tamale I got yrs ago in Chiapas, made with spam. & still a tamale. Where's the line? The "taco salad" you describe is NOT a taco salad.

I am guilty of chopping up hotdogs, adding red sauce and using it as tamale filling. I had a little extra masa to put to use. I confess. They were good. And I made them again. I also made zucchini & cheese tamales, & pine nut chipotle cheddar tamales in the same batch. Guilty, & I'd do it again.
