Apparently-unpopular opinion: I enjoyed seeing a feed full of terrible quality amateur pictures of the eclipse
Feels like a shared experience of the sort we rarely get anymore.
Nah you're right, it was great. Especially here in the eclipse-less southern hemisphere. It was nice to see a bunch of folks enthusing about something. Made a lovely break from the doomscroll.
I didn't because I'm bitter and envious because I live on the other side of the planet and there won't be a total eclipse here in my lifetime and you guys get two basically in a row. Gaaawwddd.
But I would absolutely share the sentiment otherwise.
Oh no, is that kind of commentary happening? One of the things I like about this place is that enthusiasm and joy are welcomed. Scroll past things if they don't appeal.
Agreed. Professional photos all kinda look the same. I'm all for the blobby photos that people share out of excitement.
[I even took some myself knowing they would be terrible]
It’s so neat that so many of us have this instinctive urge to share wonder with others. We want to experience this neat event by snapping crappy pics on our phones through eclipse glasses so everyone can feel at least some of the awe we feel.
I love it! I cannot get enough colander pics!
