I used to get actively harrassed by randos online telling me my comic needed to be in color >__< There's a lot of "you should do" when it comes to comics, and I've found just making the comic in a way that makes you enjoy making it is the way to go ❤️

Thinking about this page from Urasawa's Pluto where he managed to do a heartbreaking bit of emotionality from a robot physically incapable of emoting all entirely through panel composition and framing. One of the all-time greats of comics.

This is exactly why I try to openly recommend new books/comics and boost fellow authors and artists as often as I can. The algorithm won’t help us share our own stories. So we must help share each other’s stories instead, and raise that tide for all of us.

Except in Waters Of Mars, and even then it's sort of in a more esoteric sense. Again, I think this is a fascinating and important character study in it's way, and they do change and grow. But again, it gives reason to be critical.

A tragic flaw I see in the Doctor is their belief that because they try to be a bastion of goodness, what they do in anger is automatically justified, because, if you made the good guy mad, then you MUST be bad. I never see the shrinking horror of someone loving being horrified at their own wrath.

So... irl I'm a person who struggles a lot with my temper, but, am an individual a lot of people have described as being very kind (and am self-depricating enough to think that it's not true). There is righteous anger, but also the very real truth that we don't think rationally when we're angry.
