Want to mask but lack resources? Look up your local covid action group. They provide free masks, often including sampler packs to help you find the n95-type mask for your specific needs! Size, shape, hair texture, sensory needs, etc matter. So does community care. Mask in public. Always.

NYC Dept of Health tweets from July 9. Both are reasons to wear an n95 in public. Not just in NYC. COVID, pollution, and climate change are everywhere. Covid and air pollution can cause cumulative damage and disability that will make you more vulnerable to heatwaves and other climate effects.

#MEAction really only exists because of social media. We mobilized for advocacy actions using BlueJeans, worked together on Slack, etc. in 2015, before that was standard.

It's how disabled ppl work & get stuff done!

This is really cool. It will tell you if you are minor/moderate/severe in different dimensions of function in #MECFS. This is the new FUNCAP instrument.

I really think of myself as cognitively impaired but according to the chart, my physical impairments are by far the most profound.

I lessened my stress years ago when I stopped arguing with white people about whether certain things emerged due to racist INTENT rather than whether those things were put to racist USE. I don't care about the intent but I do certainly care about USE.

Disabled and chronically ill people include members of *every marginalized group that exists*. If you are doing activism but not making your spaces accessible. If you are doing activism but not for disability. You are not doing activitism, you are doing exclusion. Happy Disability Pride Month!

i want to add: if you’ve stopped masking for whatever reason, you can start again. it makes spaces more accessible, it helps preserve your health and the health of the people around you. it’s a tiny action you can take to make the world safer.
