I don't need tributyrin very often any more. Other things can cause sleep issues still, but that one was foundational and shifted a lot of other stuff. BTW, the whole process originally began when I was trying to deal with sleep issues around my menstrual cycle, and then evolved into a project 😆

It's a long story, but the tl;dr is I worked back through the chain (melatonin > 5HTP > Tryptophan > Tributyrin) & was able to work out cause & effect + experience progressive improvement. + Reading a ton about butyrate and linking to my issues + Illness origin story heavily gut involved

so I recently found out Pure Encapsulations got bought out by Nestle. I've been meaning to switch to a different brand

(I typically got supplements from them due to their hypoallergenic options)

Given the recent SCOTUS case uh...I am speeding up my supplements switch

I had to treat POTS, MCAS, and up pain management at night before I started gaining ground. Gut issues also meant I didn't naturally make tryptophan very well, so I worked on that with tributyrin (I only found 1 brand that worked for me). Now other sleep aids help more than before

Because, again: Disability is the only minority anyone can join at any time, & which everyone will join, if they're lucky enough to live that long. A disease, a quirk of genetics, a bus, a bad fall from a curb. Anything. And the only thing we have that could consistently make this fact survivable…

I too used to be an 'oh, NOW you care' person when I was younger. I was profoundly annoyed with ppl who didn't "understand" what I already knew & then all of a sudden started caring. Then I realized that was a ME issue, not at all about them. EYE was annoyed while THEY were coming to consciousness.

The new COVID variant seems to be evading immunity from vaccines and past infections. COVID cases are up 250% in NYC. Remember the more you get covid your risk for long covid increases significantly.

Bad: actually binds surprisingly well to the 2,6 sialic acid receptors found in the human respiratory tract

Good: respiratory transmission is inefficient in current isolates (subject to change)

Had to call maintenance to fix a pressing problem. They sent the guy who masks 😷 without question or attitude, not the one that makes an ass of himself.

I wasn't medically vulnerable (or so I thought) until I got COVID. You don't really know that you're not either, even if you've had COVID before. I think that woman who knowingly went to ALA with COVID deserves scorn, but what about the people who didn't care enough (5/7)

Last reskeet - once I learned that heating a building requires more energy than cooling a building, and certainly I would never advocate to leave buildings unheated, it really switched my thinking on air con usage.

Thread. Relates massively to UK anti trans/lgbtq legislation, because the people who want a new section 21 largely believe that being trans is a kink (they don't understand gender). If you think they won't come for everything that isn't prim cishet sex with the man on top after that ... good luck.
