Just had my first experience where I flight I’m on (to MSP) was literally feet above the runway and about to land when pilot had to aggressively pull back up. Pilot told us plane in front of us didn’t get off runway in time 😳 scary stuff but pilot handled it smoothly
Had a go-around in Mexico City - pilot didn't say why, but it was fairly obvious. As the wheels touched down we were practically out of runway. Scary stuff!
Had the same experience in MSP Saturday on DL2901. Pilot didn’t really explain what happened. Unnerving. Everyone applauded when they stuck the second landing.
This is never a fun experience. It happened to me once at LaGuardia. The plane was shaking like mad, knuckles were getting white, and then the pilot pulled us out of there very close to the runway. Wind shear due to storms near the airport. We landed safely at Kennedy. where the weather was fine.
I experienced that once at O'Hare. Maybe a hundred feet from touchdown and the pilot gunned it back up, immediately into an approaching storm. He turned us around and landed just minutes before rain fell at O'Hare. Most definitely a jarring experience.
Done a few times. Can’t remember airport, but some genius put a graveyard on the left end side of the runway. Provides for reflective moment, as inside of plane goes silent, & outside engines roar to life.⚡️ strikes are fun too, emergency isle lighting, really does come on, just as they always say😀
This sort of thing is more common than people realize. I sometimes listen to the tower frequencies at LAX and VNY, there is all kinds of crazy stuff going on that the public knows nothing about
I'm glad your pilot had practiced the touch n' go landing and that it all worked out well.
