i want to add:
if you’ve stopped masking for whatever reason, you can start again.
it makes spaces more accessible, it helps preserve your health and the health of the people around you.
it’s a tiny action you can take to make the world safer.

Dude, I was literally just looking at shit on Redfin and when I used their calculator for what I'd have to pay if I were buying it instead of my bf's family buying it and I nearly shit myself. I'm not perfect and I'm not trying to intentionally mislead anyone, I'm just saying rich people are rich.

Also in our particular situation the HOA and taxes wouldn't be paid by us they'd be paid by a family LLC that would technically legally own the house until it was paid off. It's complicated.

Anyway, if anything politicians should be fighting to make housing, food and healthcare a human right and instead they're arguing about their golf handicaps.
Ban golf courses.

Every few days I hear gunshots from my bedroom.
Last summer it was almost every night.
I'm tired of crying. I'm tired of living in fear all the time. I'm tired of fearing for everyone I love.

When my mom was in her 50's her boyfriend had a breakdown and held a gun to her threatening to kill her if she left him. She told him to shoot her and he backed down and she left him anyway after that.
Why is that so typical in the United States?

When I was 12-years-old a late teens early 20's guy walked up to me and my friends playing in the snow outside and held a gun to the back of my friends head and told us we had to come with him or he'd shoot. I screamed "He has a gun, everybody run" and we scattered. The cops told us we were lying.

A long time ago my ex had a mental and emotional breakdown and asked me to take him to inpatient. They turned us away. 2 days later he was able to go buy an AK-47 no questions asked.
Why is that?

I know that I'm an outlier on this, but I think judges should be required to recuse themselves if they know any of the attorneys representing any of the parties more than casually. If you've ever had dinner together, you shouldn't be allowed to decide their case.

I mean hey, I hope it made you feel less alone because it certainly helped me mentally/emotionally. Being in isolation sucks and isn't easy but it's easier when I have a Covid twin!

Yep that's exactly what's happening for sure. It also pressures people to stay in situations with domestic abusers because if they lose their shelter they go to jail.

Food costs in Seattle are outlandish and I'm glad that it's because we've decided people deserve to be paid a living wage. I just can't afford to live here with a teenager that at one point had a 3-parent household 3 6-figure income household when I'm 1 parent that's now unemployed.

That and I'm only charging my friend barely enough to cover the mortgage. I don't want to price gauge anyone to keep a roof over their head. I am anti landlord but I'm in a situation where I have no choice but to rent rooms out to people and leave my own house to make ends meet.

Same here! I'm fixing my bedroom up for my friend who's gonna be renting the room and honestly it feels good to be productive for the first time since going into isolation.

I've been forced to rent my house out by just renting out individual rooms to make the mortgage each month while I find someone else to live. I won't be able to cover the full mortgage with rent money until September at the earliest.
I want to live in a society where everyone feels security.

We're on a single teachers salary right now. I lost my job back in March and it's a workforce desert out there for marketing, social media and community management right now.

I have to have a room for my partner and I, a room for my youngest and 1 guess room for my grown daughter & grandson. We also need an office space for me and my partner since I've historically worked from home. So 4 bedrooms.
We have 2 huge dogs and 3 cats. Who can afford to have kids?!

I didn't know that abuse was abnormal until I was in a relationship where I wasn't being abused.
People can also be desperate for numerous reasons, the primary one being financial. I don't think the current employment crisis while slowly removing women's rights was on accident during a baby bust.

"There's no way it could have been abuse/that bad, because I stayed/kept going back."
Yeah, unless you were conditioned by CPTSD to believe you couldn't do better, "deserved" it, and/or it was safer to stay or go back than to leave.
Also, there's this thing called dissociation.
