I have a cat that leaves me alone at night but as soon as she hears me wake up she comes and gets in my arms under the covers. I've fallen for this trap many times. It's like she knows the rhythm of her purring puts me right back to sleep.

The only shar-pei I've ever met have tried to rip my shins off lmao it's the second on my list of breeds that I try to steer clear of. Number 1 is Chow because they have shit ass attitudes lol

And there never seems to be an in-between is there? It's either trash or massively marked up. Sometimes both.

Not gonna lie, I'm surprised that conservatives care about animals at all considering where they lie on their priority list. They should be #1 but they're too busy being bigots to notice all the fur babies dying in the street.

I heard a news reporter say "Americans seem to finally have found an issue that unites them." when referring to the outrage.

Ours are going out of business at the moment. All that will be left will be discount stores, and they'll be the next to go.

Yup! It's super devious here because you'll find stuff at a place called "99 Cent Store" that's like $5 or whatever. But at Dollar Tree everything is actually a dollar so people get confused. It's because of the labeling. One is a "Discount Store" and the other is a "Dollar Store". It's silly.

I mean, in this capitalist system that we live in I'd find it pretty hard to believe that a store is making profit by selling EVERYTHING it has for $1 as well so I couldn't fault them too much. But at the same time IT'S EVERYWHERE in the store lmfao

When I worked at dollar tree I got in trouble multiple times for "sass" because the same customer would keep asking me how much something was until I pointed at the massive banner around the walls.

Right? I'm just trying to keep these babies off the streets, why is everyone making it so hard to take care of them?!

Well I just swapped vets. When I talk to them Monday I'll ask about the test. My last vet quoted my $400 to neuter a male cat and I said "LOL NOPE".

That's the reason they gave for them having to be sick to test them. If they're asymptomatic it makes it vastly more likely that the test will be inconclusive, a false positive, or a false negative, because of the virus being dormant.

Yeah I'm a little traumatized. We just had a cat go through surgery for Pyometra (because we didn't know that existed), and I think she had a reoccurrence of the FIV and ended up not being able to fight it, so we had to put her to sleep. She was on antibiotics and everything.

That's what's been baffling for me. We've been told it's incredibly rare, and I called and talked to about 10 vets/vet techs and they all said they couldn't test for it. Maybe it's different in Europe? Or maybe where I live is just garbage?

I was told by multiple vets that the cat has to be sick to do the test. And that the disease is so rare that most regular vets don't have the means to do the test.

They're fine now, but we're worried about getting them spayed/neutered because we don't want a re-occurrence since we have so many fosters. Id be much more comfortable if it was covid lol

How did you know it was FIV positive? I'm asking because my foster babies got sick and I've had conflicting diagnoses. Some said it's covid, others said it was FIV.

Tbh what I learned was that it was over long before citizens united. After FECA made PACs popular and BCRA and Buckley made them a necessity, they essentially kicked the boulder down the hill. Now dark money is virtually unstoppable.

That was pure comedy. I accidentally opened Twitter for the first time in months and the first thing I see is Greg Abbott patting himself on the back for the "Papers Please" bill. Then you see this right next to each other.

She's not wrong but we lost that fight 30 or 40 years ago. It's scummy as fuck but there's literally nothing we can do about it now. I just finished an 8 page essay for school about campaign finance and dark money lmao
