every trans woman I know, myself included, has stories about hints of femininity showing, or even an interest in it showing, or even the slightest deviation from “acceptable guy behavior” and how we were routinely and incessantly punished for it

I’m sorry but I think it’s great you are listening to your body 💜. Have you thought about seeing a physiotherapist though? I’ve been seeing one about my knee and she’s been really great at isolating issues and working on it. Doctors are way more likely to shrug and suggest painkillers

I feel like I sometimes have weird language hang ups. My physio showed me her wedding photos and I said that she “looked really pretty” and I should have said “you look beautiful” but I think, when male presenting, that would feel like too strong a statement and now I feel I wasn’t affirming enough

Yeah kinda feels like streamlining GRCs feels pretty pointless if they strip us of being able to exist otherwise: “look your paperwork will acknowledge your ‘gender identity’ in death which is good because we sure as hell won’t recognize it in your life, why aren’t you happy?”

Yeah, the accept people’s truths and presented identity applies to cis people too. It’s just policing their presentation otherwise “oh this man has displayed the capacity of the same emotional range as a woman, therefore he must be trans because otherwise men shouldn’t be like that”

I love discussing dosage changes with a nurse practitioner who says she’d need to check with the endo for 300mg progesterone because “she doesn’t usual prescribe it that high” to find out from the pharmacy today that she didn’t, in fact, change the dose. Love being involved in my healthcare

Watching TikTok I’ve seen a fair few of the turn yourself into a Bridgerton or Sims character videos and cis people lamenting, upset or frustrated about it placing them in the wrong gender. I’m really hoping this tiny tiny tiny window into the trans experience gives them a little more empathy

As an egg the more I interacted with other trans folks the more I found myself questioning my own gender and reconsidering a thing I’d long buried. I feel if you are a cis person spending time with trans folks you might reinforce certainty about your gender if you are doing that same reflection
