I meant to use my time at the airport and in-flight to do some writing, but my brain is refusing. Hopefully it will cooperate before the day is over.

Thanks for explaining this! Still crossing my fingers for the Elven language expansion pack. 😉
Also, there are a few threads in the other place right now praising your writing, especially in Elven as Solas. (Thought you might like to know.)

Thanks for asking! All of the eligibility requirements are on the website. Briefly, though, if you've worked at a public or academic library within the past five years, you may still be eligible!

Is there anyone on here who is a member of PLA and would be willing to share this CFP there on my behalf? I want to make sure this reaches as many people as possible. Thank you for considering! 🙏

Some days I really hate Outlook. I carefully checked to make sure something would send from my research team account, so of course when it actually sent it reverted to my personal account. SIGH. 🙄

If you want to contact your politicians about mask ban bills, here's a template. Necessary change points like titles & name of addressees are highlighted yellow, but feel free to adjust as needed. If bills are already introduced in your area, consider including their exact legislative ID if you can.

This is why mask bans are suddenly being proposed. If you’re in a place where that’s happening and you think we should prioritize public and personal health and freedom over expanding the powers of the police state then please do let your representatives know why the freedom to mask matters to you

Feeling disheartened by the criteria some people use to determine what is "significant" research. I'm trying to take it as a reminder of why I don't want to be in certain spaces anymore, so I don't have to fight that fight and can save my energy for the work that matters to me.

The absolutely wild thing is: This goes for ALL social aid. Just *giving people some fucking money,* literally going "OK, how much did you need?", cutting checks, and waving them out the door? COSTS LESS and HAS BETTER OUTCOMES than the current system's bureaucracy and means testing, EVERY TIME.

Some reduce the 2024 campaign to a contest between two old men, but it's a choice of two slates of federal appointees who'll impact your life in a million ways.
Biden has staffed executive agencies with excellent choices who are doing good work. Trump will empower an army of Stephen Millers.

I'm lying on my couch this afternoon due to nerve pain, and am finishing up Crip Spacetime by @margaretprice.bsky.social.
Parts of the Accompaniment chapter particularly resonate with my research on neurodiversity employment: "...strong work relationships are not optional" (154).

Some days I am reminded that I genuinely do not understand other people. Is it seriously that hard to try to be a decent and considerate person? We all screw up sometimes, me included, but it also seems like some people consistently don't even try.
(And no, this isn't about my work)

I just realized I am standing, at my standing desk, with all my weight on one foot because the other leg is stretched out across the top of my desk.
How long have I been like this? Don't know. 🤷♀️
What is my whole leg doing up there? Also don't know. 🤷♀️
Maybe I should stretch the other leg now? 😂
