My childhood dentist was an old Italian guy who had an upstairs office from his house near Catholic Univ in DC. Our theory was he had to be part of the penance for the priests and nuns he was so brutal. I’m still traumatized.

That's /why/ he lies in the way that he does. It's not that he thinks the lie is true, it's that he doesn't think of lies and truth in the way normal people do. He thinks of reality as an extension of will, and his lies are an attempt to manifest a new (more favorable) reality into existence

1/ On Alabama IVF decision. Please do not take the GOP's stampede to "I support IVF" at face value. Even the plaintiffs in that case contend that they "support IVF". The question is whether the GOP supports a rule that "human life starts at conception" & any destruction of a zygote is murder.
