Two tidbits:
-The father suing says his daughters have never tried and have no intention of trying to get contraceptives from a title x clinic, but somehow the case still has standing
-his lawyer is the architect of SB 8–texas' abortion ban
Why are they taking cases that never happened? Why isn't someone suing to say a sitting prez that incites a riot and attempted coup can't have immunity? Let's play their game.
The one good thing about all this is people who aren't political junkies can finally see how corrupt and fallable judges actually are. This isn't some special breed of judge. The system is both designed to be authoritarian and also has decayed terribly.
he says he can't possibly raise his children to abstain from sex if there's a possibility of them being able to get birth control without him knowing, which is a justification so flimsy as to be see-through.
Pervs who spend most of their time and energy thinking about the fact that their daughters may one day have sex instead of you know, being present in their daughters’ lives are what keep the worst nursing home in the state in business, because dude, none of them will change your Depends.
They should be educating their kids and encouraging them to plan their family so they can have kids when it makes sense. Forcing a child to live with a mistake is not an option. And letting them reach 50 without having a child because they never considered it properly is also not an option.
the goal seems to be turning pregnancy into a threat, backed up by the abortion ban, to enforce morality. i will vote against republicans and their interests, no matter how petty, for as long as i live.
I'd love to see the control freak misogyst's face when s.o. explains that #UK doctors can prescribe the pill to teenagers under 16 w/o parental consent & that the judgement was brought about by a woman trying to stop her daughters getting contraception without parental competence (cf Gillick)!
But it was rightly decided, Congress needs to make a law to clarify, is what a totally-not-naive law school student who works in DC just posted.
Help. Both of you can't be right.
