So far, I've collected these masks to take to a shelter for unhoused people in Harrisonburg, VA. (Thank you!)
I plan to take these over there this week, so please contribute in the next day or two if you plan to help out! Thanks!!

Thank you to those of you helping purchase masks for a local shelter!
Unhoused people don't need more to worry about as COVID starts to surge again.
(I had to reschedule a meeting with a university I work with because a bunch of people were out with COVID 🫠)
Let's help protect people in need!

This is important. We need solutions like filtration and ventilation to clean indoor air for everyone, but the mass denial prevents action.

Wow, yet another reason to improve ventilation!

If anyone wants help finding scientific papers/articles related to anything stated in this interview, let me know.
Also see the part near the end about ventilation and filtration in schools. That's why I started this account, I think there's still hope there.

Note that while we don't have robust data collection to get a complete view of COVID dangers here, Australian hospitals have paused elective procedures because they're so understaffed due to COVID and flu cases there right now.

Oh look, ventilation, air filtration and masking actually worked in this school to reduce the number of Covid, flu and RSV infections! Beats being constantly sick and the inevitable absenteeism. More schools should try it! 👍😷 #ONpoli

The article warns
a bird flu pandemic
has the potential to be
“100 times worse than COVID”
and while I will admit
this frightens me
what scares me more
is knowing most people
think the current pandemic
poses zero risk
so I fear “100 times” zero
is the calculation most will make.

For added safety, consider using portable HEPA or MERV13 (or higher) filters to reduce virus particles indoors. Whenever possible, hosting events outside or offering hybrid meeting access can minimize risks.

Doing this without having mandated cleaner air in schools and public spaces and masks in healthcare settings is irresponsible.
It only affects those who want to be responsible & isolate when they test positive, because now they can't point to CDC guidance as a reason to stay home from work/school.

The AP has just called the HD140 special election (in Bucks County) for Dem Jim Prokopiak.
This means Dems defend the vacant seat; the House will be 102-100 Democratic, with one vacancy (a Republican just resigned days ago).

In Australia, more than 50,000 infections have been reported so far in 2024. And this is likely to be a significant underestimate, as we are testing much less than we used to.
