Do I have followers who work as waiters or flight attendants? I'm curious about the impact of COVID on your profession. In the past months I've seen waiters and flight attendants working with masks on, and others not. If you don't mask at work, do you get COVID? (This is not for publication.) Thx!

Maybe thatā€™s your experience Peter, but from my experience & observations, a lot of disabled people, Covid-cautious, trans, climate crisis activists & others have found community, mutual aid, life-saving info, solidarity and more here. Itā€™s no illusion for them, posting/connecting is their lifeline

So many of my informed Covid-cautious mutuals have been blocked by Matthew Cortland way before he accused me of misinfo when facts in Merck Manual link provided. Blocked me when I pointed it out & provided 2 more proof points. My spider-senses are tingling, heā€™s a bad faith actor, isnā€™t he?

When Johns Hopkins Hospital stopped masking, my otherwise really smart & experienced transplant nurse told me that COVID can't be airborne or they'd be required to keep wearing masks. The American healthcare system has been filled with "wash your hands to prevent a respiratory virus" misinformation.

I think I even sent 3rd source outside of Merck. Then thought oh no, heā€™s not arguing in good faith, and replied do you want to quibble about a 3rd or 4th ranking or do you want to help people avoid a virus that ruins immune systems? BLOCK. Exactly! Which is what I said and he argued thatā€™s not an actual ranking. Then served him up 2 other pages on that Merck Manual website that listed Covid in 2nd ranking (grouped in with viral infections) & another list where Covid followed AIDS and preceded undernutritionā€¦he accused me of misinfošŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

The truth about Covidā€™s threat is quietly finding its way into Public Health websites, work & insurance policies, disclaimers on event tix, because they know one day you WILL BE disabled by Covid and seek compensation. And they will point to the fine print saying, well thatā€™s on you for not reading.

I think itā€™s more in 25% range because so many people say theyā€™re fine but forget everything all the time, or are constantly sick with legit colds, or are winded going up stairs when they never used to be and ARENā€™T MAKING THE CONNECTION bc Covid was ā€œmildā€ for them. Lola talked about this too today

Suggestion for folks asking for mutual aid support (based on years of experience): There's no need to say you're embarrassed or ashamed or hate to have to ask. That's exactly how capitalism wants you to feel. And it wants you to reinforce the idea that asking for help is shameful.

It is normal and human and absolutely okay to need to ask for help and support and care from others. Humans are social creatures who rely on each other. The idea that we can do it all alone without ever needing to ask for help just isn't realistic.

I have read that sometimes, some folk just donā€™t have the capacity, Iā€™ve certainly felt that way when Iā€™ve had to make phone calls that entail explanation and cognitive function understanding the response.
