Art. 42 (7) des Lissabon Vertrags sieht eine Beistandsverpflichtung vor, ähnlich NATO Art. 5. Aber das war's dann auch schon. Die EU hat keine integrierte Kommandostruktur, und ohne die USA stehen wir konventionell und nuklear ziemlich blank da (unsere frz. Freunde mögen mir den Satz verzeihen).

Got tired of the defeatism that is again spreading in Europe as a result of the weekly warnings that Russia might attack in 1-5 (or 20) years, so I wrote about Nordic-Baltic preparedness. What used to be NATO’s Achilles heel is now one of the alliance’s most well-prepared and capable regions.
