Yeah. The countries that have normal, sane elections tend to put strict spending caps on everything. They also have at least semi-powerful state media apparatuses, which we don't. So I just don't really see anybody finding an incentive to do this who's not, you know, a voter.

I do believe much of what has happened across Biden's presidency is the media leading narratives around by the nose, but in a vacuum, the modern Democratic Party tends to be a cult of competency. So his visible aging is of more concern than it is for (the also visibly aging) Trump within his party.

Yeah. Whoever the candidate ends up being, they obviously need to be, like, "Here is a big vision," which right now is just, "Well, if Trump wins, that's it for democracy," and I agree, but there would ideally be, like, a second round in the chamber.

The bind the Democrats are in is that replacing Biden at the top of the ticket (presumably with Harris) is a genuinely destructive, self-defeating, probably insane decision, but, also, _not_ replacing Biden is a genuinely destructive, self-defeating, possibly insane decision. Good luck out there!
