The plan is actually pretty clear, it's just that the choice stipulated in the plan is too brown & too female for the party apparatchiks. (She's also not wanted by a lot of people outside the party hierarchy, for their own reasons, but apparachiks only care about that to extent they can milk it.)

While I think there may be a narrow edge to the instititons of democracy among Point grads in particular, it might not matter a lot if Trumpists focus on exploiting the National Guard. A Trumpist congress could easily use the Guard as a vector for application of fascist force.

This point has always confused me. In _The Case for Christianity_ Lewis explicitly describes himself as Roman Catholic, but I've had people explain to me that I have to understand that in a C of E context - he wasn't a "real" Catholic in some way I won't pretend to understand.
