It's just hilariously disingenuous. Imagine looking at, say, ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY and concluding that the biggest threat to liberty isn't abuse of power, but powerful people refraining from sufficiently wielding their authority out of fear that they might one day be held accountable.

The revolution was largely inspired by a desire to escape abuses of power by a tyrannical king. Today, SCOTUS has ruled that the Constitution was written with the intention of granting POTUS tyrannical powers. It's nonsensical.

One thing I try to remind myself is that every decent person with an opinion on Biden dropping out or not is doing so out of a rational fear over Trump taking power again. Myself included. As long as you want to make sure Trump loses, we're on the same team. But we might disagree on how.
