I have no idea if Biden should stay in or drop out for someone else (it almost certainly would have to be Kamala Harris for a variety of reasons). I think everyone is panicking because the stakes are existential; the Dem candidate must win, whoever it is. The time for this discussion was in 2023 IMO

I think Alex makes an interesting analogy, but I have an inverse analogy: the Lightning got swept by Columbus in 2019 after having the best NHL regular season ever at that time. I wanted everyone fired for that debacle of a series. They stood the course, won the next two Cups and almost won a third.

If I were a strategist or candidate in the Green Party or another left-wing party, I'd probably only target races in deep blue or deep red states. No chance of winning any electoral votes anyway, but getting to 5% of the popular vote and getting federal funding next cycle would be a good start.
