I spent a night in jail when I was 18 (trespassing/malicious mischief) which was horrifying because all the guards decided to "scare me straight" by talking nonstop about how I was going to get raped, & then when I got out that was everyone's immediate "joke," too. Fuck that entire genre of "humor."
